New Tour Buddy, and 2nd Covenant nom!
Hey friends! I write this on the eve of my fall BC tour with Kelti Malone. We are busy getting things ready for our first concert, tomorrow night at First Lutheran Church, right here in Kelowna. Can’t wait to share some tunes with my home congregation, and then hit the road for 10 days of BC goodness! Check the Shows page for all the details. And then, it’s off to Alberta to BreakOut West, the festival leading up to the Western Canadian Music Awards. I am so excited about my first time as a WCMA nominee (Spiritual Recording of the Year, for “Permission to be Broken”), and am looking forward to lots of great music and networking. And, you know, wearing a pretty dress for the awards gala on October 6. 🙂
I’ve also got some exciting news about my upcoming trip out to Ontario. The first part of the Ontario excursion is a banquet to celebrate the work and accomplishments of Compassion Canada! So excited to be working with this incredible organization, that sees each of God’s children as precious and full of potential, and connects them with caring sponsors who support their growth with prayer, letters, and $41 per month. Following the banquet, there is a weekend Compassion artists retreat where I’ll spend time resting in God’s presence, getting to know other Compassion artists and advocates, and even writing some songs.
After the retreat, I am stoked to announce that I will be doing a few dates with a brand new tour buddy. I was sad to say goodbye to my tour buddy of almost a year, Kelti Malone, but she has some great new goals ahead and is moving in a new direction. God didn’t leave me stranded, though… He provided an opportunity to work with the fantastic Chelsea Amber! This woman is talented, beautiful, and such a firecracker. We are going to have some grand adventures, I can just tell! You can learn more about her at www.chelsea-amber.com. Our dates together are October 30 through November 2, so if you are in southern Ontario and would like to host us for a house concert, coffee house, church concert, or kitchen party, gimme a holler.
And then… after the Amber&Jade tour (teehee) I will be heading to the Gospel Music Association of Canada retreat, which culminates in the 2013 Covenant Awards. This is always a great event to meet and greet other artists of faith who are sharing God’s love across the country and the world. Not only do I get to attend, but I am attending as a nominee again this year… I am honoured to be a nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year!
So, that’s the story of the next six weeks or so. Will I see you on this crazy journey? If so, shoot me a message and let me know. Maybe we can grab a coffee. That’d be sweet. 🙂
God bless you, and thanks for joining me for the ride,
<><
